Problems with Sony Vaio Vgn-CR series laptops. Pls help.?

Sony VAIO VGN-CR24G - have Windows XP Professional installed and updated to SP3. PROBLEMS: 1) Closes automatically at random. 2 Very poor performance. Reading CD / DVD will take more than 2 minutes. 3) With more than 4 or 5 instace Internet Explorer becomes really slow.

I have the same notebook. I had the same problem. When i downgraded from Vista to XP SP3 installed and composition. only getn crash. The only way I could found to resolve it was not just the installation of Service Pack 3. I had to reinstall windows and SP2 runoff.
