VGA adapter cable ties and Sony Vaio Cs Sony Bravia LCD HDTV?

So I recently purchased a Sony Vaio CS and bought the VGA cable and audio cable. I connected my laptop to the TV, put it in PC input mode, and only the sound is coming out. Onscreen, says the incompatible signal and go check out. I put in the output of the VGA cable in correctly and was not sure what I was doing wrong. I searched the Internet and there was something and a VGA converter file required laboratory tops that are not compatible with VGA? That I have no idea what it is. If someone who can help, thank you very much.

Well first of all Sony Vaio Laptops and can do up to 1920x1080 VGA video signals ..... So we need to go into your VAIO, set the resolution a 1920x1080 screen but make sure your refresh rate is only set to 60Hz and nothing else! It can not be ... 70 Hz or 80 Hz ... or 90 or 120 Hz .. .. only 60. Did you activate VGA output on the Vaio, too? Sometimes they are not active and you have to turn them on ... Now if I do not get a picture, then it's time to open the manual TV and follow instructions, review the resolutions of the table and read the whole chapter on the PC input .... Then whip the guide and see how to convert Vaio VGA output on it.
