Sony Vaio Boot Disk Usb
Will Microsoft send me a replacement copy of XP on DVD?
Basically, my team desperately needs to be reformatted. It is a Sony Vaio, A couple of years. I have no idea where the original XP disc, but I have the serial number on the label that comes with the same attached to the bottom. Unfortunately, To make matters worse, the functionality of CD-ROM drive no longer exists, and only read DVDs, so even if I had the CD, it would do me any good. So basically I wonder if Microsoft sends copies of XP in place of registered users, and if so how would charge, and it would be possible upon request on DVD. Any help or any options that I have not really thought it would be appreciated! As far as I know it can not boot from USB, as this laptop is not that new. Thanks!
I have never used the Microsoft program substitution, but its link listed below. However, I am sure that the XP installation disks do not come in a version DVD-Rom. Anyway, the CD is loaded from the DVD drive (provided you selected it as the boot drive). In addition, you could try the company TechMedia (in links). They sell replacement recovery disc sets, with the entire operating system and all the original drivers for almost any PC. And, they are very reasonable. Good luck!
