Hi all: installing Win XP on sony vaio?
my original hard drive is dead, I have a new one, but I can not install win xp, it still appears with error.i also have the recovery CD that came with the laptop, but I can not use as there are no new hard disk partitions, except primery partition.please from advice if you can thanks
The first part of your question, it gives the error, but I'll ignore that you have done, because discs.Your original hard disk recovery was obviously partitions and disks partition.To will refer to each partition a new hard disk Partion manager is third required.I always use Gparted Live CD is included as an application or many applications on Linux live cd.This BIOS is easy to use and intuitive, but remember to be configured to boot from the CD as the first priority.Having and format partitions with Gparted, their recovery discs should have no problem restoring system.pl note that it has updated Recently two of my machines, larger hard drives, the size of the new unit is not a problem.If not sure feel free to e-mail to help.Good any more luck! http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php
