Sony Vaio Warranty Repairs

Help with Sony Vaio Vgc-710g?

The system drive was a sharp snap and upper back area which is covered with mesh began broadcasting the smell of burning plastic. Now, it turns on. Anyone have any theory about what is wrong with it and how to repair? I had it for awhile and am not under any kind of warranty and repair service Sony is expensive, any other form of reparation for a budget of $ 200?
