Sony Vaio Warranty Check

Laptop Problem / Best Buy warranty?

I bought a Sony Vaio Laptop in November 2008, works well, but lately the fan high and few minutes ago shuts itself (fist time it happens). Not connected to power and the battery is half way. I'm thinking to bring it to Best Buy and review my laptop, I bought the warranty when I bought the laptop but I lost the receipt! that they have me in their system if I just had my laptop? Thanks in advance.
