For Starters: Sony's helpdesk sucks big time. If you need drivers for your computer, will sell a CD of drivers for quite a few $ $, while others manufacturers simply make these drivers available via the Internet. I have no experience with Dell, HP laptops are pretty good. Go to a store and a truly portable handle some of them: the look you get from the notebooks will at least give an idea of what you like and dislike about different notebooks.
