Sony has announced the series X

Sony Vaio joked on the X in the conference this year, the IFA in Berlin, which functions essentially as the European version ESC. No specification sheet or press release that are, we all know are the basics of Sony's press conference. Now, fast forward just a few months later, and Sony has unveiled its latest netbook, the VAIO X. This time, the X seems set to Razzle Dazzle and the form factor super slim, lightweight design and price very expensive. Of course, the magnesium alloy chassis and carbon fiber frame of the notebook is not cheap for anyone, but gives it an air that is perfect for business users that this netbook is aimed a. How perfect you ask? Further information on the following pages, but let's start with our usual photos outside and specification table first.

So how Sony was able to achieve such a thin and light netbook? The VAIO X chassis is made of an alloy of magnesium, and the cover is constructed from carbon fiber. This material allows the screen to flex, which can be a little disconcerting, but Sony has said it is designed to bend a little. In addition, a Z-series Intel Atom processor, which uses less energy (and generates less heat) than the N-series Atom chips in most netbooks, the company was able to make the incredibly slim netbook without a fan. Top of our review unit was matte black, and inside, with a bottom brass felt slightly rough to the touch. Sony also offers the netbook with the lid of a Champagne Gold Medal, but only for the model with 128GB SSD (more on this later).

There are some niggles inevitable that we must address. The first is the narrow keyboard. Sony makes every effort, with the keys to more isolated margin of error in writing, but the small right Shift key has a lot of getting used to, like all the keys on the bottom right area: the point and keys Cursor is a particular challenge. I never expected to use this keyboard. The small touchpad is also a problem. It seems odd to include such a small touchpad when there is abundant space below the keyboard, especially since Sony has included a scroll area on the bottom and right of it. At least that is sensitive to the touch in the right place, and together with the relatively small screen we have found useful when traveling.

Running on an Intel Atom Z550 (2.0GHz) processor, 2GB of DDR2 RAM sports an SSD of 128 GB of Samsung and Intel Integrated Graphics GMA 500, the VAIO X was a bit slow in handling our real world. Of course, everything went better after that Aero was turned off, but he felt strange, to see how our previous experience with normal netbooks with Aero turned on in Windows 7 RC was lag free. Strangely, this is not reflected in our quality of performance tests in the operating system Windows 7, as the scores indicate a relatively fast performance compared with the average netbook. Perhaps this could be something related to the slower FSB between the processor and chipset. Note that we would have liked to test the X VAIO using PCMark Vantage, but unfortunately, we could not get it going.
Packing a laptop specially designed 4-cell battery, Intel Atom powered to do well in our battery test, and given its light form factor, you must score high enough on the test of our portability index. The battery is housed basically two cells in the battery to one side while the average has a depression to accommodate the trackpad on the chassis. It is an innovative design with safety, rather than finding a place to squeeze the chassis battery, Sony battery fits around the VAIO X Design

Sony VAIO X is so light and elegant, this product is virtually a class by itself. It sets a new standard for portability. In addition, the built-in 3G and GPS ensures that users will be connected wherever they are. However, for a 11-inch system, we were disappointed in this team small keyboard and touchpad. If you have the cash, industrial design in the X VAIO definitely turn heads, but you sacrifice ergonomic comfort.
