Features of the Asus Eee Pc
Although ultra-portable laptops often weigh about 2kg, the Eee PC is a featherweight 0.92kg. It is therefore an ultra-mobile machine in the true sense of the term. The machine is so small that you can use in almost any environment. However, this is a complete PC, not only a "mobile Internet" as Internet tablet Nokia device.
This review aims to provide readers with a treatment in depth of the Eee, using an actual retail unit, instead of a pre-production model. This is important in several respects. Previous models had different BIOS, which, for example, did not provide the USB 2.0 Full Speed. Hopefully, having tested a model of actual sale, the review should give a true representation of what this machine can actually do.
The 7 ", uses an active matrix LCD screen that does not fill the top panel. This is because the LCD is flanked by a pair of stereo speakers. You might be asking if a 7 "screen can be used. Fortunately, Asus has significantly limited the resolution to 800x480, for the text is clearly legible. This resolution makes the display easier to read than other Ultra-Mobile PCs like the Sony Vaio UX1XN that fills a resolution of 1024x600 in a mere 4.5 screen. "Ideally, I would have preferred a larger screen with the speakers moved to the base of the machine.
Even although the screen is small, is very impressive, producing a clean and fresh appearance of the image. The colors are faithfully reproduced and there were no bad pixels. The screen is finished anti-glare which helps reduce glare from overhead lighting, which was very useful when using the Eee on the train. Another notable feature of the display is its angle wide viewing, although I found that traveling by train helps onlookers watching what he was doing, mainly because their attention had been drawn to the tiny size of the machine.
The display can be set to 16 different brightness levels, which is more than enough for any environment machine is being used, with the exception of very strong sunlight. Both the screen and the chassis is sturdy and not under pressure not Flex. The hinges are sturdy and fairly stiff, a sign of strength. Certainly belie the affordable price tag.
Ultra-small, ultra-lightweight laptops previously carried a huge premium, making them much a niche market for those individuals willing to spend outrageous amounts of money. Not only is the Eee PC massively undermine its Ultra Mobile PC competition even sells for less than a budget laptop.
Of course this means little if the Asus device had major deficiencies. Not so. The interface tide can be mastered in minutes to any novice PC user, the hardware is more than capable of doing their job, and everything works out of the box. At the same time, the device can become a full team for the computer enthusiasts who enjoy tinkering under the hood.
The Eee PC can be targeted at children and students, but should also appeal to anyone who needs a compact, affordable yet fully functional PC. It is lightweight, much easier to use than a Windows machine, starts three times faster and costs about a quarter of anything in his weight class.
I therefore give the Asus Eee PC from my more highest recommendation. There is so much to like about this team very versatile. In fact, I like it so much I bought a second!
