Lost passwd for Computer w / o CD?
A relative died and left us with a little-used Sony Vaio UX. As you know, has no CD drive. He was very safety conscious and locked passwords, even to safe mode. Is there any way to recover the password without a CD drive or remove windows? Thanks, but I figured it out. for anyone with the same problem, go to the VAIO recovery (F10, while the Vaio splash screen) and reconfigure windows and wipe your hard drive (about reinstalling Windows), but the files will be lost
Go buy a USB CD ... should be very cheap. A Once this site tells how to create a CD that can reset passwords on XP. http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/
