Upgrade or replace?
I have a Sony Vaio Pcv RX540 I got from a friend for free! It has a 1.2 Ghz processor Intel Celeron with 512 MB RAM, 64 MB DVI TV Tuner Card, really slow DVD burner and a CD-RW. A hard drive with 20 GB Windows XP Home SP2 on it. It was in 2001. Is this a good computer where all I have to do is update the DVD recorder, hard drive and reinstall the operating system? Or should I ditch it and get one new. All I want to use this computer for is basic internet browsing, word processing and light gaming (older games video less good). Please help!
throw in another 512 of ram to get a new burner and load the OS on a new hardrive and should be fine .. of play is affected by how well the graphics are or have integrated graphics or an AGP slot to upgrade the video card ..
