Do I still need a VGA cable?

I have the Sony KDL-32V4000 (32 "LCD TV) and also my Sony Vaio NR38E. I connected so the laptop screen can be seen on television. BUTT, I do not know what I need? I have the following links for television and a laptop if u specifications need to see, hopefully you can help! To use your BRAVIA LCD HDTV as a second monitor to your Vaio, all you need is a monitor cable Standard VGA. (Bravia and Vaio both have VGA connectors). Hope this helps.
