Sony Vaio Tv Cables

Trying to connect to the Sony portable TV?
ok, I want it to sound as clear as possible. I have a Sony VAIO. It has a VGA output and an I-link output and a pair of USB. I have a rear projecttion / LCD TV (Mitsubishi), which has an HDMI input, S-video and RCA inputs. I tried to go from VGA to DVI to HDMI and that work not yet. So basically, what is exactly what I need to basically see the desktop of the laptop on my TV? Is there i need to get cable? As VGA to RCA, perhaps? Frys also someone told me you can get a capture card and connect your laptop to and from it provides connections to the TV. Will it work? Any advice or ideas or solutions will be greatly appreciated. Please, guys, I have spent over 6 months trying to resolve this ... thanks, will give full points to an advance in the TH is
VGA to DVI to HDMI does not work. Your TV should have a VGA input to use VGA output. As seller know the FRY was wrong. The capture cards go the opposite way to bring television broadcasts on your computer. There is no good way. You would facing a table to convert from VGA to DVI. The funding source is an example of this.
