Labtop What type do you recommend?
I'm trying to find a reasonable, long-term Labtop, decent, do not have to go to empty my wallet to add things, but I will last long. Does anyone know anyone who comes with a printer, or any discounts? I can not exceed 1000. It should be in that. Let me know. I think a Sony Vaio would be good, but need help on where to find a decent price, in addition to looking at BestBuy, Circuit City and Staples. Let know if you can and please no stupid answers like "do it urself. He was asking for peoples opinions on here because I know many laptops not last too long, if you do not choose the right one. Also one that is not too slow. I will not buy a refurbished either.
For Vista, look at the requirements of MS ... and twice at least and make sure it is certified. Triple if you can afford ... then Vista should rock your socks. If you learn to use it, Vista features and technology blows XP away ... when it works.
You want to last and that 64-bit Vista Home Premium or Ultimate. But if you have older programs may not work (especially with the 64-bit). Compatibility list for Vista here: http://www.iexbeta.com/wiki/index.php/Windows_Vista_Software_Compatibility_List You have to know a bit about computers to work (for the old programs that have problems and if there is a solution. The Internet has a lot of smart solutions people share). Ultimate is the best, but if you think you need anything that fancy, Home Premium is good too. Get a good video card if you want Aero graphics (at least 256 MB of 128-bit on the new cards). Best if you can afford. Recent release of Service Pack 1 things better and more compatible with the hardware. Unfortunately, Microsoft marketing made people think that will work with older computers, but is very risky and that is why there are so many problems. It is too far in technology and requires new hardware and too many manufacturers sell cheap computers that do not run Vista well. Vista uses extra RAM to store files commonly used in a new activity known as "disk cache". The team determines which files have access to more and copies it to RAM (where is much faster than accessing your hard drive). This includes components of the programs you use regularly. When you need more RAM for programs that launch, equipment, etc. purges the "least likely used" files from RAM to make room for the new program. That's why if you look at the performance monitor, Vista always has near zero "free" RAM. In theory, the more RAM (for disk cache) you have, the faster the computer going to work. This can also be a minor effect with a USB flash drive with a technology called ReadyBoost. Http: / / blogs.technet.com/askperf/archive/2007/03/29/windows-vista-superfetch-readyboost.aspx Vista Home Premium and Ultimate has Media Center, where with a TV card / USB adapter (if not integrated) of the type that fits your TV, acts like a TiVo advanced. You can play your videos, schedule recordings, etc. As an added bonus, you can get a wireless keyboard / mouse or gyro-mouse and it will be something like remote control. American Sales and Technology Opportunities catch good deals on HP and Dell, and sometimes you can get like $ 500 off! XPBargains has offers Tablet PC! WinMacs are popular (7% of Mac users ... 5 of 7 are WinMac'ers). Http: / / marketshare.hitslink.com / report.aspx? Qprid = 11 But for the price, Macs do not run Windows as well as other brands. Macs are durable because many have an accelerometer in which it could "increase the possibility" to save to your hard drive when you drop it. Like those used in airbags. The power cord is also magnetically attached so it reduces the probability that you take off the table. OSXMacs can only install Final Cut Pro (which is good for media work). Adobe CS is also good and is available for Windows, but works better in OSX. The Windows version actually looks like an OSX port. Most Mac users finally Windows uses it yet (from 7% of users Mac ... 5 out of 7 are WinMac'ers). I suspect that many owners of OSX are artists as usual. The emotion of the workers are usually not as good with computers as logic workers so OSX is good for them. Windows runs better on Windows machines, of course, but sometimes it does not matter much to most users. Mac Pros: OSX stability of OSX is easy to use dual boot to Windows more resilient than many fashion brands Mac Cons: Not as the most peripheral support Not support both Windows software does not run as good Expensive Minority: currently use Macs Only 7% [2% OSX, 5% WinMac] (91% use Windows) More PC Pros: More customizable options Styles cheaper hardware Vista has best gaming capability (Direct3D 10) PC Cons: Less stable (unless it is a IT pro) Many are relatively not as fashionable Not as easy to use some additional features in Windows requires advanced knowledge to use the features Additional require better hardware despite your use of them or not Details of features can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_OS_X http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Vista Some brand statistics: In terms of recent sales, the top 3 manufacturers are HP, Dell, and Acer (Gateway).
