Sony Vaio Sound Device

Why are my laptop speakers that emit sound when when I have the headphones connected?

I'm on a Sony Vaio Vgn-N110G laptop running the Realtek HD audio device. I was on Youtube before and I took my headphones off for a second, and found that the video's audio was coming out of the speakers the notebook. The audio was still coming in as normal headphones, but the sound was coming out of the speakers integrated in the same volume as if hearing aids were not not even plugged in. Does anyone know what could be causing this and how can I fix it?

In most cases, a mechanical switch small that disables the speakers as soon as you plug the headset. That the switch may be damaged.
