Sony Vaio Rb40 G
What is wrong with my PC?
Okay, so when I play on my PC and The Sims 2 and World of Warcraft, I play a good 20 minutes and then the game slows down and graphical glitches on the screen. They look like black or blue polygons flashing extending around a point of origin. When I move the camera around them disappear and reappear and then the game crashes. Sometimes the screen resolution is 640x480 with 4 bit color and sometimes not. I can play other games like Kotor Spore Creature Creator and well. Just recently bought a Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT card. Also, sometimes when I try to enter my user account in XP, I get an message saying that there is insufficient system resources to complete the transaction and I will be transferred to the default account. My computer is a Sony Vaio Vgc-RB40 (G) series, with a Pentium 4 with HT 3.0 GHz speed and 1 GB of RAM and plenty of free disk space.
Make sure you have all drivers to date. Also check the power supply. Many graphics cards require a lot of power and if the power supply can not support going to end up with problems performance. If run with a lower power supply fan on your graphics card may not work and may end up burning.
