Question about increasing the performance of my computer for WoW?

I have a Sony VGC-RB30 Asus I bought about 5 years ago. When I play World of Warcraft I am late to the point where my character should stop and wait for the delay that stopped before it can proceed. This happens especially when I get populated areas (Stormwind, Undercity, Orgrimmar, etc.). Sometimes when I'm leveling, I have a late rush when someone goes through me. I play with every game effects, at least This affects me. My question is: buy more RAM to help reduce the GAL? Please help me out, as I have no idea.
