I have a Sony Vaio Pcv Rs420, prefabricated equipment. Can I put a new motherboard?
MI "platform? If u can call it that, comes with Windows preinstalled on my hard drive, so I have no disks from Microsoft. I wonder if I upgrade just the motherboard CAM just come from an AGP to PCI 16x. I currently have the following: P4 2.8. HT CPU (FSB 800) (stock) 1GB DDR (400) RAM (orig was 512, another 512 came later) for all ATI X800XT Wonder (256 MB) AGP (bought later) 1x 100 GB Maxtor (bought later) 1x Seagate 120GB (Stock) ASUS motherboard ATX Then I can put in a new motherboard and keep all the same? (except video, of course).
could but why? CPU + motherboard combo is usually the best way to go unless just demanding. you have to make sure the motherboard supports your CPU / memory type. Also, be sure to check the micro ATX tower it owns. if you have one of them Sony Custome towers, may not work. should be a standard ATX tower.
