Laptop will not turn on?

I have a Sony Vaio Vgn A160. It was working perfectly well. There are no viruses or anything bad. Last night I went out suddenly, and never came back. I know there is a battery problem, since thats been dead for months, and have been running on the AC adapter. At first I thought perhaps it was the AC was not working, but the fine, because I tried to plug in the dock, and power LED light, indicating that work. However, placed on the pier could be done either. So the question that one being, there is a way of finding out what is wrong, and how to fix? question two, which I hope not the case, if the board does not burn, is there away to remove the hard drive, placing it in another system and backup my files? But rather buy a new motherboard, as match to buy a new and better laptop.

When mine did, was because it took power for a long period time. The only thing I did was leave it in for a day or two, and finally turned back. I heard that there are some cases where not due to information Resetting lost total power failure. If the load does not work, try taking a computer repair and see if it's worth. Good luck!
