help with my Sony Vaio Laptop?

my sony vaio is only 2 years old and the motherboard went up from him. (I was playing a game that using only the battery and turn off and never came back .. and I had 2 computer shops look and say its board) the guarantee is up .. Is there a way of thinking or Sony will repair for free ... I was told that will cost 700 $ $ to have it repaired ... and its not my fault ..! I still have 550 $ In it (i paid 1800 new $).... help?
