New monitor with DVI, but no place to connect the old PC?

I recently purchased a new Samsung LCD flat screen monitor for my computer. The new monitor has a DVI cable, but I do not see anywhere on my computer that is to be connected to? Is there anything available in a store where I can buy high-tech a plug converter? I would like to use DVI to get the most out of the LCD. The PC is about 4 years and is a Sony VAIO. I use the connection Comcast broadband. Please let me know if you need additional information to answer my question. Thank you.

you need to buy a new graphics card with a DVI connector. the model number of the PC would help me to recommend a card. This should cost about $ 30 (unless you want one means to play video games), you can check and see if your monitor has a VGA port, and although you do not use all the quality of your monitor. Cattista and does not work atleast wouldnt. If the DVI-D is only one adapter wouldnt do anything. adapters only work when connecting DVI-I. Graphics cards usually have DVI-I, while the monitors are have DVI-D.
