I have a Sony VAIO VGN-FS980 15.4 "Notebook PC and wanted to buy a router because I dont get any signal in my basement, but I also have a desktop upstairs would be a Linksys WRVS4400N 4-Port Wireless-N Gigabit be good for my laptop? Please help! I say it would be the best router to buy to get more of the signal. thank you
An 802.11g router should be good enough for you.
