Sony Vaio desktop or MacBook?

So my mother died of HP, so I'm thinking of buying a new laptop. Wanted in CW or Sony Vaio Sr Series. I would like to install Core2Duo 2.53 and 4 GB of RAM 2x2gb. But as everyone is raving about the MacBook Pro I was thinking about buying a Mac, however, for the best price you can afford only one processor core 2 Duo 2.26 and 2 GB of RAM for the MacBook Pro If you pay extra you can do 2.53 GHz and 4 GB of RAM. Mac is much better than Sony. 2.26 I can go with GH and 2 GB of RAM? I really do not play on my laptop. I just use it to Skype, Facebook, email, the usual. Thank you if I have a Mac, it would lower GHz and RAM hinder their performance. i cannot pay 2.53 GHz and RAM of 4GB on a MAC. I can on the Sony.

HP has one of the higher rates of failure among laptops - so do not be surprised to hear of your HP. Higher end laptops are 20% less likely to fail - again not surprisingly, this assessment of the two premium brands. There is obviously more for your money if you choose not to get a mac (which is what I recommend). The Mac, obviously have their strengths with their boxes of aluminum, low profile and popularity. I would recommend to any PC Premium (Sony or another manufacturer) because they get more for your money and will last a bit more and feel faster in the future without nagging compatibility issues. But the Mac is good and if you are willing to fork over one, you wont be disappointed.
