Sony Vaio Laptop Case 16.4

Sony Vaio Z, FW, or AW?
I have reduced my options for a laptop for college for these three. Below are the main differences, and any entry that is the best for a university student this fall would be great. Z: 13.1 "screen, 2.66GHz, 4GB DDR3, 9300M GS 6-hour Sony-rated battery life FW: 16.4 "screen, 2.93GHz, 8GB DDR2, Mobility Radeon HD 3650 from 5.5 hours of Sony AW-Rated battery life: 18.4" from screen, 2.93GHz, 4GB DDR2, 9600M GT battery life between 1-3 hours, the FW is the cheapest of these, even when everything is on the highest setting, including Blu-ray read and write. So the big question is whether or not a solid state drive worth it. Moreover, they all go with 2.93 GHz and (in the case of FW) 8 GB of RAM can be excessive, given the GPU is not powerful enough for games anyway? (Recast: 2.66 GHz would be fine from the card the game graphics will probably bottleneck "anyway?)
