My laptop at work is a brand new Toshiba. It works well and looks good. Things I like (as the position of the Delete key) only minor discomfort. My laptop at home is almost brand new Sony Vaio. It works well and looks good. The only real problems I had with it was again bad advice and Norton AntiVirus (which is history). I'd say go with anyone. While you can upgrade the memory on the Vaio and use custom software, I'll be good anyway.
