How do I change the model in the bios of a Sony laptop? In the Sony repair incorrect model failed to impress in the BIOS
I sent my Sony Vaio S170P to replace a defective motherboard under warranty. The system sent back for repair with all data intact, so it does not no need to do a system restore. When I tried it a few months later I received an error saying no "recovery CD for this model. I looked and discovered that Sony had installed in the model number of my BIOS and the Vaio S170 (UC). The Recovery CD Don, work T and Sony isn't be very help. The system was repaired in the U.S., and I live in India. Can anyone help me change the model number in the bios back to my S170P correct model? I updated the BIOS with the drivers on Sony's website for the latest version and that didn; help either.
