Wi-Fi in Vista using Wanadoo / Orange broadband?
well here is the problem I have a Sony VAIO which is built on the mobile I'm trying to connect to Wanadoo / Orange - He asks that I enter WEP (correctly) and then says not connected and should contact mobile provider - Be sick of talking to a call center in India for all the other problems I thought I would ask here HElppppppppp !!!!!!!!
Part we need to know is the make and model wireless router. Can you see the brand name on it? I personally am not familiar with what the team of Orange sent. Is there any way to connect to it with an Ethernet cable and get to the configuration? If you put in the correct WEP key, I would, if that's all it was. If you are getting the message of the WEP key, you're on the right track. No question is a channel or media type. Are you absolutely, positively the connection to your own wireless router and not someone else? If it was mine, I just connect the cable for a few minutes and restore the configuration. Change the key to something else, or deactivate for a few minutes just to test. See if you can get on the radio with WEP security disabled. Do not leave it so, obviously, but to test the love, just to disable the security and see if you can enter. If connected, then you have isolated the problem to the WEP key, you can easily go back and reissue the characters exactly what you want there. If you have not connected with the safety off, now we know better about the WEP key more. The next steps depend on the outcome of their examinations. Good luck!
