If I'm not mistaken, the Core i7 has 4 cores, and each core has Hyper-Threading feature, so you can count as 8 cores. It can also accelerate itself around 2.4GHz charts on the following website shows the scores of processor performance. www.cpubenchmark.net. You can find a more objective answer exists.
