Sony Vaio Cd Rom Problems
Sony Vaio Cd Rom Problems
Where can I download an update for my DVD drive?
I added a Pioneer DVD-ROM DVD-116R from a Sony Vaio to a Dell Dimension 2400. while music CDs and CD-ROM work, I can play DVDs go figure. I get this "Windows Media Player can not play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, video card. Try installing an updated driver for your video card. "I've tried to update manually, but I found the downloads are not. Inf the Hardware Update wizard will, and the readme file that comes with the download to say to get in the DOS command UPG5A / n where G6TA122.HEX / n is 1, 2 or 3, depending on the IDE bus and the environment. I have tried all three, and always return the response "Can not run C: PROGRA ~ 1 Desktop DVD116_122UP UPG5A.EXE "if someone could tell me what I'm doing wrong, or better yet, where. inf file record can be found (all my searches came up empty) I would appreciate it thanks.
These are the two drivers of age. It is NOT necessary for drivers to a DVD, you need drivers for video card. Read the error message.
