Will I lose the data on my hard drive if you use the sony vaio recovery cd to restore my PC for HD errors?
Will I lose data my hard drive if you use the sony vaio recovery CD to restore my PC. He recently got a "disk read error press CTRL ALT DEL to restart" the situation in my hands. I was foolish not to back up my data before so now I'm saddened that I might be able to save them. Is it possible that I could be able to save both, but I can not sign anything or get to the Welcome screen. I know I might need a new HD, but for now I desperately need to find alternative ways to solve this problem Dyer. Pressing F8 does not work well or hit the delete button on boot. I've read that doing this will show me the screen BIOS? Press CTRL, ALT, remove just brings me back to the same black screen and is a continuous cycle. Sometimes a DEBUG trap message appears on a black screen similar. My PC is 5YR old Sony VAIO desktop. Froze the night b4 this happened. Have an active anti-virus program running not kno why it had to happen now. anyhelp?
You probably can not repair the drive, but can get the data off. And unlike some may think its not always expensive. Checkout for Www.FreeHDRepair.com recommendations of software and, yes, free data recovery.
