Sony Vaio Boot Order

Sony Vaio Boot Order

How do I fix the garbled video on my Sony Vaio Pcg-Z1WA?

Ok, so I recently purchased a unit off eBay PCG (Sony Vaio-z1wa) and video have been distorted in both the laptop and external monitor. I opened the unit to check all connections and plugs and parts and everything seems to be properly configured and running. The monitor was still opened and examined, and none of the cables are trapped in the RAM hinges. There was not however the drive (it is advertised to have 512 MB RAM stick). It is possible the RAM drive that causes this or do not publish or upload the graphics drivers? Now comes the hard part, sometimes starts with the Sony logo and try to boot. After a while, the screen has all these little boxes and / or lines and you can not see anything on the screen. When the screen is done to show its beauty and has no dead pixels or anything.

That's a little difficult to solve. It would be helpful if you could give us a picture or two. Please There RAM on the laptop, I doubt that you were letting the BIOS boot. So I suggest adding some RAM on the laptop first before proceeding with the solution problems. Also, if you can boot to windows, and if the problem still appears in the windows, you can try reinstalling the monitor and graphics the first driver since here: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=PCGZ1WA&UpdateType=Everything
