Laptop Sony Vaio (model VGN-NR430E / L) Black on the home screen and disk read error message?
The screen turns black with the Vaio screen initial and then read "disc read error" press CTRL + ALT + DEL to restart. I tried to restart in Safe Mode by pressing F8 but not even let me do that. The computer is a Vista with an Intel Pentium Dual-Core. I've never had this problem before and the team was working well before this morning. I do not know much about computers so please be simple. Easy points if he can help and any help would apprecite.
Something has corrupted the hard drive. I hope everything important is backed up. To get it back to factory specifications to keep tapping the F10 key while the computer is booting up. You do not need to re Reformatting and therefore probably will not lose all your stuff. You can lose nothing, just no guarantees.
