Where and how do I download a firmware update for my DVD drive in my Sony VAIO?

Hello, I have a Sony VAIO desktop - model # PCV-W2 - that works well with the exception of the fact that the DVD drive burns DVD RW Sony! I tried to download some updates from the website DVD Sony, absolutely useless, but I was hoping someone who knew where he could get a free download online to update the firmware of the unit in the hope that this will solve this problem - Sony discs are damn expensive!
